Been playing the contemporary urban horror/supernatural MMO TSW from Funcom. (since CCP are taking so long to develop Vampire)
It mostly answers the gripes I had with SWTOR, with good atmospheric stories and quests, game artwork that works, quests which are enjoyable to do. It is a game for adults, not just the language and semi-nudity but also the content - suicide, drugs, the cynical world view and so on.. so it may not be suitable for families with growing children.
The characters are classless - i started with a healer heavy build until my first dungeon run - where i saw the lack of good tanks, so developed tanking abilities, then eventually DPS, all on the one character.
You get to carry 2 of 9 weapon types at a time, choosing between ranged (pistol/shotgun/assault rifle), melee (claws/blade/hammer), or magic (blood/chaos/elemental) each with a branching progressive skill tree... but you can only "equip" 7 active and 7 passive skills at a time, so choosing what skills to take is where the art lies. you can freely swap gear and builds (outside combat)
not sure how much longevity the game has - people complaining about lack of end game content 2 months after launch, but I am enjoying the lower level areas. new content released monthly, but the latest patch is a bit buggy.. fixes in progress.
