What I have done, is copied my original Ryzom entire directory onto a USB external HD (120 GB), now I pretty much play from that off whatever machine I can find. Just start it using the config/setup file. If you can find a big enough USB key you could use that, but my ryzom directory takes up about 7 gig, and a key that size would cost about as much as the HD anyway. (very very fortunate I did this, as my main PC is pretty much farked ) moved my room at the mining camp now, so now my wireless reception has improved from "very low" to merely "low" If it wasnt for all this mess with the patch(es) I would be seeing if I could get on.. as is, I will wait until I get home and can plug into my broadband

I forgot it was 7 gigs , I dont think my dad would let me since the desktop has only around 20 gig free memory. I guess Ill just have to wait it out, or get me a bigger pen drive. Thanks alot though Gill I'll see if i can find a 20 gig one or something if they sell them that size. Any idea how much it will cost if I did buy one, cause I have absolutely no idea XD.

The 4 gig USB key I bought recently cost about $60 australian, the 120 gig USB external HD cost me about $150, could have got a 250 gig for about $130, but those were the bulky types which also required additional power too. These were from a chainstore that does furniture/electrical/computers, not sure what the UK equivalent would be.. I only use dedicated computer shops for GFX cards and RAM

I always patch my XP PC install then Copy the whole game to my Lappy(vista) via a network or crossed cable.....You could try this if you have access to your Lappy Harddrive...
Vista has lots of Admin Rights Quirks and the Ryzom Downloader very frequently hits roadblock and screws up the patching....dont know why. When I copy from PC to Lappy I have never encountered a single problem.

Unfortunately I dont have access to the hard drive, as Ive sent the whole thing in. I've also asked my dad about this and said that is "wouldnt kill me" if I had some time off Ryzom, which is silly when I already have had a holiday off and im sooo bored now . Im getting both upset and dissapointed aswell, as Ive not recieved any news about my lappy yet from the shop. I'll keep filling you in though and Ill keep loitering around the forums ;D
